Steven E. Lanham, DDS

Dr. Lanham was born and raised in West Virginia completing his undergraduate studies in Biology at West Virginia Institute of Technology in 1978. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1982 followed by a three-year tour in the United States Navy based in Parris Island, South Carolina.

In private practice since 1985, Dr. Lanham has been committed to staying at the forefront of dentistry by participating in extensive and ongoing post-doctoral education. He has completed numerous courses with The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and The Academy of Laser Dentistry which has influenced a great deal of his practice philosophy. He aspires to provide healthy smiles through individualized dental care while building total wellness with his patients.

Post-graduate education and organizations include: The American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of Laser Dentistry, The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and The South Carolina Dental Association.

Dr. Lanham lives in Columbia. He has three grown children – Chad, Bria, and Kyle. After coaching football and basketball for 20 years, Dr. Lanham now enjoys conducting sports camps in conjunction with mission trips in Central and South American as well as the United States. His hobbies include golfing and fishing.

Life & Hobbies

In addition to spending time with friends and family, Dr. Martino enjoys playing guitar, as well as cheering on his favorite sports teams – the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pittsburg Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.  

Dr. Martino has been active in volunteering in the community and abroad including a dental mission trip to Guatemala and working with Freedom USA, providing dental treatment to veterans and active service members. He also has volunteered for Relay for Life, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program and Challenger Little League for children with special needs.
